Print making flourished following World War I, and during the period of the Great Depression. The interwar period is frequently considered a Golden Age for the medium. Many impulses aligned to inspire this resurgence of prints.

Lloyd Foltz flourished in this environment that valued prints. A charter member of the Prairie Print Makers in Wichita, he was a virtuoso in many print media. Foltz depicted scenes from the American heartland and brought a special lyricism to landscapes and subjects he knew well in Kansas and the surrounding region. As a reprise to the Wichita Art Museum's 1992 exhibition devoted to the artist, the museum again features Foltz with this publication and related 2021 exhibition.

This catalog was produced to provide context for a 2021 exhibition of the prints of Lloyd C. Foltz at the Wichita Art Museum, Wichita, Kansas.
